another goodbye

All i remember is the way her chin covered the black chin rest of the violin, the way her brown curly hair and big glasses gave me a sense of security, and the way the big green building she called her home was always filled with plants and violins. She was the ultimate violin teacher. The woman everyone knew and loved. I began taking lessons from her when i was four, and only a few years passed before she moved away and left nearly sixty violin students looking for a new teacher. Like baby birds without a mommy.

Her picture was in the Salina paper today. It is a vague reminder of the face i always associated with Mrs. Crocker. She passed away sometime last week.
Death is darker when you aren't sure the light ever shone.

If you at the bottom of the post you will see the person' name who posted it. Our whole family writes on it at lest once a week. Because we are all procrastinators it usually gets done on Saturday.
