serving

“I am here to serve” That is a line that my dad says a lot. Until now I have thought about it in the temporary state. Like he is the father and it is his job to serve his family. But I realized that he means that while he is on earth, he is here to serve others. “Serving” can mean a lot of things. When I think of serving I think of someone serving a meal to somone in need, but I guess being a witness for Christ through your actions can be a way of serving also. In fact I think that it would be an even better way to serve than to just serve a meal. A meal would be for the temporary but if your actions show what Christ is like, it could be for eternity.

A Surprising Phone Call

Today I got a phone call from Regan. When I saw the caller I.D. I thought it would probably be her but I didn’t really think about what it could be about. When I answered it she said something about how she wanted to tell me something before I heard it from someone else. When she said that I thought it was going to be something bad. But I didn’t know. Then she said, “ Last Sunday night………….. I GOT ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" At first I was really surprised. I had thought about it but somehow it wasn’t the same as actually hearing that it was true. She then told me the whole story, I was very surprised that she thought of me and actually called me. I mean I’m not saying that she is disorganized and wouldn’t think about it. But I was just surprised. I felt special and honored for her to call me. She also wants Sarah and I to play our violins in her wedding!!! And guess what! She is having it at our church!!!! I mean I thought she would want to have it in her hometown. But she said that most of her friends are in college and wouldn’t be able to come anyways. In all I was very surprised and happy for Regan. I still can’t believe it!

Noise, or lack there of.

I really miss having more noise in the house. I mean it’s really quiet! With Jeremy here this past weekend things got a little louder. We both kind of egg each other on (in a good way, I think). I really enjoy goofing off with my brothers. They are the best brothers anyone could ask for.
Michaela came over today and we did Algebra together. It was more fun than doing it by myself. We also got to go play basketball together outside. While she was here I found out that Mya (the baby that we watch) has rotavirus. She has been sick all weekend! We went over and saw her today and she is looking a lot better. I am glad for that.

Fun with the family

Today was going to be great fun with family until my cousin Reggie got sick. I was really looking forward to having fun with everyone for an extended amount of time. It seams like it has been a long time since they have spent the night. But it is nice to have more time with Jeremy. it has been really fun to have him here. Yesterday Jeremy and I and my dad went to the Coffee Club. That was really fun though they didn't have any chairs for us to sit in. I found it amusing though when we just stood in the corner and enjoyed ourselfs. My dad made plenty of jokes in the process also. I then went to DTO Homegroup. that was fun to see everyone again. We actually weren't very productive which is okay. I enjoyed watching some home movies from Regan. She also brought us up to date on her life and future mate,(maybe).
