How I want this love

I recently read a post by Julia about the passage in 1 Corinthians 13 which says,

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames but have not love, I gain nothing.

A few days later I was told to read Psalm 139 as homework for history class. This entire Psalm rejoices at the mighty acts of God, and after each line we are reminded, "His love endures forever." Without love, nothing I do will matter. Nothing I say will impact. Nothing I accomplish will last. But God's love endures forever. His love does matter. His love does impact. His love accomplishes much, just look at the cross.

How I want this love.

Death follows us close

Let us make way for grace; let us redeem the lost time, for perhaps we have but little left. Death follows us close; let us be well prepared for it; for we die but once, and a miscarriage there is irretrievable.

abide in My love

"If we really abided in his love, we would come away feeling so nourished,so cherished, so liked, that we would
rush back to him whenever we could."

I'm back!

After more than a year of neglect, I have returned to my blog. A few special people have inspired me to blog again- Jeremy who helped me redesign my page, Sean who believes I can write, and Julia whose writing, and reading, encouraged me want to write. My blog will now be used to share some of the art that sits in my journals, along with some of my thoughts.
